Terms of use

Short, because there is not much to agree to. The planner is free and runs in your browser. One thing costs money, and Stripe sells it to you rather than we do.

Who you are dealing with

tablout is a one-person project. There is no company behind it beyond what is stated above, no support team, and no service level. If that matters for your event, it is better to know now than on the day.

The free planner

You may use the planner for anything, including commercial work, for as many events as you like, without paying and without an account. You do not need permission and there is nothing to attribute.

It is supplied as it is. Nobody warrants that it is free of bugs, that it will still be here next year, or that it fits your particular event. The honest statement of what it does and does not do is on the about page, and it is deliberately blunt about the missing pieces.

The practical limits, which are enforced in code rather than described here loosely: 50 tables, 500 guests, 20 groups, 24 seats per table.

Your data

Your guest list, tables and groups are stored in your own browser. They are never uploaded, so there is no copy on any server to lose, sell, hand over or restore. That last one cuts both ways and is worth reading properly on the privacy page.

Because there is no copy, you are responsible for keeping one. Use Save Project. Clearing your browser data deletes the plan and nothing can bring it back.

The poster file

The print-ready poster is a single payment of €9.99. Not a subscription, not a trial, and no account is created.

Stripe Technology Europe Limited is the seller of record. That means Stripe, not this site, is the party you buy from: Stripe takes the payment, charges the right VAT for your country and remits it, issues the receipt, and settles any dispute or chargeback. Your contract for that purchase is with Stripe.

What you get is a file, and what you may do with it:

• Print it, as many copies as you want, at home or at a print shop.
• Use it for a commercial event, including one you are paid to organise.
• Edit it. The SVG is a real vector file and opens in any vector editor.

What you may not do is resell the file itself, or the templates, as a product of your own. Print a hundred copies for your event; do not list the template on a marketplace.

The unlock is remembered in the browser you bought it in. To use it elsewhere, enter your unlock code: the cs_… value shown in the address bar when checkout returns you to the planner. It is verified against Stripe, so keep it.

What we do not promise about the print

Printing is the step most likely to disappoint, so this is spelled out rather than buried.

• Resolution varies by sheet and by device. The poster is rendered in your browser, and browsers cap how large a canvas they will paint. A2 and 18×24 reach 300 DPI; A1 and 24×36 land lower, and lower again in Safari and on phones. The actual figure for your sheet on your device is shown before you pay, not after. The vector SVG has no resolution limit at all, which is why it is the file to send a print shop.
• Colour will not match your screen. The file is RGB. Print shops work in CMYK and will convert it. Deep colours shift in that conversion. If exact colour matters, ask the shop for a proof.
• We have not tested every print shop. A 3 mm bleed version is provided because most shops ask for one, but requirements differ. Send the file to your shop and ask before you order a hundred.

Liability

This is a €9.99 file from a solo project. Liability is limited to what you paid for it. Nobody here is liable for a wedding that went wrong, a print order that came back incorrectly, a plan lost to cleared browser data, or any other consequential loss.

Nothing in this section removes the rights you have as a consumer under EU or Portuguese law, which cannot be signed away. Where those rights conflict with anything written here, those rights win.

Changes

These terms may change as the product does. Material changes will be noted here with a date rather than applied silently. Changes never apply retroactively to a purchase already made.

Law

Portuguese law governs the use of this site. Your purchase of the poster is governed by Stripe Technology Europe Limited's own terms, which you accept at checkout.

Common questions

Do I need a licence to use the poster commercially?

No. Print it for a client’s event, an event you are paid to run, or a company dinner. The only restriction is that you may not resell the file or the templates themselves as a product.

Who do I contact about a payment problem?

Stripe, using the link on your receipt email. Stripe is the seller of record and can act on a refund or a disputed charge faster than we can. See the refund policy.

Is there a company behind tablout?

Not at present. It is operated by one person in Portugal, which is stated plainly at the top of this page rather than left vague.
