Who you are dealing with

tablout is a one-person project. There is no company behind it beyond what is stated above, no support team, and no service level. If that matters for your event, it is better to know now than on the day.

The free planner

You may use the planner for anything, including commercial work, for as many events as you like, without paying and without an account. You do not need permission and there is nothing to attribute.

It is supplied as it is. Nobody warrants that it is free of bugs, that it will still be here next year, or that it fits your particular event. The honest statement of what it does and does not do is on the about page, and it is deliberately blunt about the missing pieces.

The practical limits, which are enforced in code rather than described here loosely: 100 tables, 1000 guests, 20 groups, 24 seats per table.

Three files depend on the size of the plan. The print floor plan, with a small tablout credit, the table list (TXT) and the guest list (CSV) are free for plans of fewer than 50 guests, counting everyone on the list, seated or not. For plans of 50 guests or more, all three are part of the print pack, and there is no free version of them to download. The planner itself, the Room, saving and opening the project file, importing a guest list (CSV, TSV or TXT) and seeing every file on screen before you pay are free at any size.

Your data

Your guest list, tables and groups are stored in your own browser. They are never uploaded, so there is no copy on any server to lose, sell, hand over or restore. That last one cuts both ways and is worth reading properly on the privacy page.

Because there is no copy, you are responsible for keeping one. Use Save Project. Clearing your browser data deletes the plan and nothing can bring it back.

The print pack

The print pack is a single payment of €9.99. Not a subscription, not a trial, and no account is created. It contains:

• the print-ready poster: a PNG, a vector SVG, print or save as PDF, and a 3 mm bleed PNG;
• place cards and table cards;
• the caterer sheet;
• the print floor plan, the table list (TXT) and the guest list (CSV), for plans of 50 guests or more (below that they are free).

Every printed document in the pack is set in one design that you adjust: the style, an accent colour, plain white paper or the style's own (the caterer sheet always prints on white), English or Portuguese for the fixed wording, and A4 or US Letter for the cards and sheets. Nothing is sold beyond that list.

Stripe Technology Europe Limited is the seller of record. That means Stripe, not this site, is the party you buy from: Stripe takes the payment, charges the right VAT for your country and remits it, issues the receipt, and settles any dispute or chargeback. Your contract for that purchase is with Stripe.

What you get is a set of files, and what you may do with them:

• Print them, as many copies as you want, at home or at a print shop.
• Use them for a commercial event, including one you are paid to organise.
• Edit them. The poster's SVG is a real vector file and opens in any vector editor.

What you may not do is resell the files themselves, or the templates, as a product of your own. Print a hundred copies for your event; do not list the template on a marketplace.

The unlock is remembered in the browser you bought it in. To use it elsewhere you need your unlock code, which is shown in Download, on the print pack card, after payment and can be copied from there. It is verified against Stripe. Save it — there is no account to log back into, and the number on the Stripe receipt email is a different thing that cannot be checked automatically.

What we do not promise about the print

Printing is the step most likely to disappoint, so this is spelled out rather than buried.

• Resolution varies by sheet and by device. The poster is rendered in your browser, and browsers cap how large a canvas they will paint. A2 and 18×24 reach 300 DPI; A1 and 24×36 land lower, and lower again in Safari and on phones. The actual figure for your sheet on your device is shown before you pay, not after. The vector SVG has no resolution limit at all, which is why it is the file to send a print shop.
• Colour will not match your screen. The file is RGB. Print shops work in CMYK and will convert it. Deep colours shift in that conversion. If exact colour matters, ask the shop for a proof.
• We have not tested every print shop. A 3 mm bleed version of the poster, as a PNG, is provided because most shops ask for one, but requirements differ. Send the file to your shop and ask before you order a hundred.
• Home printers scale and shift. Cards and sheets are drawn at their real size, but a printer set to fit the page will shrink them. Print one sheet on plain paper at 100% scale and check it against your card stock before printing the rest.

Liability

This is a €9.99 set of print files from a solo project. Liability is limited to what you paid for it. Nobody here is liable for a wedding that went wrong, a print order that came back incorrectly, a plan lost to cleared browser data, or any other consequential loss.

Nothing in this section removes the rights you have as a consumer under EU or Portuguese law, which cannot be signed away. Where those rights conflict with anything written here, those rights win.

Changes

These terms may change as the product does. Material changes will be noted here with a date rather than applied silently. Changes never apply retroactively to a purchase already made.

1 October 2026

The print floor plan was added. It is free for plans of fewer than 70 guests. For plans of 70 guests or more it is part of the print pack, and the free floor plan is a screen-resolution preview in first names only. Until this date there was no guest line on the floor plan picture. The pack also gained one shared design for all of its documents. A pack bought before this date unlocks everything in it now, the print floor plan included, with the same unlock code.

7 October 2026

The poster preview you download became the same kind of picture as the floor plan preview: first names only, about 1000 px on its long side, and marked Preview. It used to carry full names at a resolution that printed. The preview on screen did not change: it shows every name, and is never marked. The print-ready poster in the print pack did not change.

11 October 2026

The guest line moved from 70 to 50 guests. From that line, the table list (TXT) and the guest list (CSV) joined the print floor plan in the print pack; below it, all three stay free. The free poster preview and floor plan preview downloads were withdrawn. Seeing every file on screen before you pay did not change. A pack bought before this date unlocks everything in it now, the two lists included, with the same unlock code.

Law

Portuguese law governs the use of this site. Your purchase of the print pack is governed by Stripe Technology Europe Limited's own terms, which you accept at checkout.

Common questions

Do I need a licence to use the print pack commercially?

No. Print it for a client’s event, an event you are paid to run, or a company dinner. The only restriction is that you may not resell the files or the templates themselves as a product.

Who do I contact about a payment problem?

Stripe, using the link on your receipt email. Stripe is the seller of record and can act on a refund or a disputed charge faster than we can. See the refund policy.

Is there a company behind tablout?

Not at present. It is operated by one person in Portugal, which is stated plainly at the top of this page rather than left vague.
